The creek sounds are very sparse and in the background and are not audible to the casual listener. (it is a very small creek!) This soundscape was recorded during an unusually wet and cool summer. Tree frogs were in their element, as you can hear in the latter few minutes of this soundscape. Surprisingly, this was recorded in the exact same spot as the "Frog Mantra" and "A Froggie went a Wooing" were recorded 2 years earlier (featured in the Spiritual Serendipities CD). At that time there were practically zero insects. Now there are zero frogs. On those usual hot dry mid-summer weeks this creek almost dries up. Not this year! Comparing the two recordings illustrates how every moment is unique in nature. Differences in climate variation, as well as cycles of animal populations can create totally different ecological niches for species each year. I am quite astounded by the production results of these recordings! When wearing headphones, there is such a clarity of space and depth of insect sounds, that the soundscape draws you in deeper and deeper into the landscape - in a way that only binaural recordings can do. When listening with speakers better than average depth and stereo imaging is present. With this much content and detail, this song will stand up to repeated listenings and still sound fresh and interesting! This is an edited version of the full length song. Length 3:57 minutes.
