Description
Back in 1998 in front of an audience of over 100 artists, the studio was filled to overflowing, I gave a major live demonstration on painting the figure in watercolor. Almost life-size in fact. This was a fairly large painting and I only had two hours to do it. Boy, I tell you, that was some challenge for me. In that two hour performance I showed the entire process of how I achieve luminous flesh tones beginning with a cobalt blue underpainting and finishing with a final blush of a soft red. I knew that I wouldnxt have much time for chit-chat so our Director, Carmel Fowers who was an advanced student of mine for six years, narrated the complete process.
Good news is, we videotaped the demonstration and have now just finished fully digitally restoring and enhancing this demonstration. This 2-hour DVD is live, uncensored and uncut. Painting the Figure in Watercolor: Britton Live & Raw is quite different from an instructional DVD. Here you will see not only my full figure painting approach, but very importantly, how I actually apply the paint. Especially when Ixm in full painting mode.
