BBP Recordings is back once again introducing our brand new funk act called “Camels on Duty” from the Netherlands. They bring a refreshing type of oldskool breaks meets funky breaks. They come up to the surface to set the table straight with raw vinyl vibes and acoustic instruments. The funky dudes Elmo and Bart teamed up 3 years back and are now ready to let the world hear what they’ve been cooking up in the studio.
The COD crew is definitely a promising producer tram and this debut EP shows what they can do with some rhymes and rhythms. From the story telling and atmospheric Food Run to the bang on oldskool jammin' breaker Getting’ Paid. Again, right on the spot is the very talented nu funk producer Jayl Funk, to delivers yet another smooth and funky remix for this package.
Where else to find these original oldskool and unspoiled breaks, but here at your favorite funky label – BBP Recordings!
A. Camels on Duty, kicks like a mule on a tribute journey back to oldscool funk. Michael Conner's storyteller-voice works perfectly well on top of the Food Run track. We are proud to present a true original funkster, with a story to tell.
B. The Jayl Funk Remix sends the original story of Food Run, on to yet another level of funk. A mean, lean and funky "comin' back at ya'" kinda-remix, that takes the listener to a journey back to real oldscool days.
C. Getting’ Paid, is a oldie but goodie funky breakbeat tune. Still with the "vinyl feel" and the originality of Camels on Duty. You got to give it up for these boys, with the splendid elements of true funk and real guitars.
D. Liar Liar, will let you find yourself, in the middle of some truecore breakdance oldschool funky boomboxsound with grafitti up the wall. “You can't handle the truth” of theese wellfitted organs and steels on breaks. Real nice round-up B-side track.
