Pale the Kid is brand new act from Greece but the people behind it: DJ Kid Stretch and Pale Penguin are skilled producers that has been doing damage in the breaks scene for a long time.
DJ Kid Stretch, former champ of Greek DMC, has been releasing several tunes for the "Battle of the Breaks" soundtracks and most recently dropped the very successful Good Groove 12" that made it all the way to the no. 1 spot on the breakbeat chart.
Pale Penguin has been active in the Greek electronic scene since the early nineties and has been DJing alongside some of the biggest names in breakbeat as well as running the tech-break label V.I.M Records.
Together they form a perfect blend of their individual backgrounds with the music that can best be described as “uplifting Electronic Disco-Breaks for the dancefloor with Funky, Soul and Rave drops”.
BBP Recordings is very proud to introduce their very first release from Pale the Kid: Work That Sucker EP with 2 fresh remixes from the nu funk legends Basement Freaks and Calagad13.
A. Pale the Kid work's up some serious electro breaks on the title tune Work That Sucker with a smooth cocktail of mindblowing disco cuts and pumping basslines. A perfect examples of how well the Pale-Kid concept works!
B. Calagad13 is without doubt a man that never disappoints on a remix and he Works up this Sucker real good! This is funky disco breaks at its finest and it shows just about every trick in the book about how to produce a groovy breakbeat tune! Pumping beats - funky wah wah guitar, disco grooves and lots vocal cuts - who can ask for more?
C. Pale the Kid pumps up things a bit on the flipside with the vocal driven Power of Bass. With a banging nu skool break and some twisted synthlines this should keep the dancefloors busy anywhere.
D. It’s a great pleasure to have Basement Freaks back on the BBP with an awesome remix of Power of Bass. Basement Freaks manages to though in some traditional funk flutes and horns into the big electro atmosphere - and the result is off the hook - check it out!
