C. Maxwell Cade was a British biophysicist, psychobiologist, and inventor of the Mind Mirror EEG. He used these alpha development exercises with his meditation students in some 4,000 sessions while they were hooked up to the Mind Mirror. He found that a strong alpha bridge is essential to the practice of meditation.

American humanistic psychologist Anna Wise developed her own alpha training exercises and used them with private clients and students in group brainwave trainings. She monitored people for more than 6,000 hours on the Mind Mirror, including at Esalen Institute where she taught for 30 years.
