This is a quick guide to blogging, so I’ll explain as I can. Firstly, I’m sure we all know what blogging is, because what you are reading is a blog post. The process of writing a blog post is called blogging, and the person who writes the post is called a blogger. These days, in developed countries, one out of ten people probably own a blog. It could be a personal blog or a company blog and so on. Blogging is actually easy when you’re actually writing about what you love. You could have a food restaurant and you add a blog to your site that describes your recipes. “How to” posts are the most searched posts on the internet, so you can help someone by writing on stuff you do best. You can write about skating, construction, designing, sports, tell interesting stories and so on.

Moreover,
due to the monetization of blogs through AdSense and other ad services, most
blogs today do not care about content and just post a lot of stuff just to get
views and get paid. A blog content is supposed to satisfy the viewer, but that’s
not the case nowadays. Therefore, I suggest when creating your blog, you choose
a niche you’ll love.

Also, you
have to know that there are many blogs like yours on the internet. Search
engines can only display limited posts on their pages, and logically only pages
on the first and second page get viewed easily. This makes a fight for the
survival of the fittest. If your blog content is top notch, and your page is
optimized, you’ll probably do better than someone with the reverse case.

You can open a free blog with WordPress or blogger etc. You can also buy a domain and hosting and add your blog posts to your site (If you want to earn with your site, use this).

Search Engine Optimization( SEO )

If you want
to rank higher in search engines like goggle, Bing, yahoo, this is for you. I’m
not going deep into SEO, because it’s a little technical but while writing a
blog post, you have to optimize your content while writing your blog. Search engines
use document relevancy when determining which posts/pages appear higher in
search results.

When writing your blog post, you need to find keywords that’ll lead people searching for something related to your post find you. Keyword research is very important because it gives you the organic traffic to grow your blog. Normally, before writing a blog post, I write my keywords down and research to find similar keywords(synonyms) that are less competitive and could give me more traffic. This does not mean you should use too many keywords in your post. Moreover, if you use too many keywords, your post will sound spammy and you don’t want that. Normally, when I’m done with my post, I read it aloud then tell my friend to read it too to know if it sounds great. If it doesn’t, I rework until it sounds better.

Tips to consider while blogging

It’s nice if your keyword is in the post title

Keep your keyword close to the front. It should be in your first paragraph.

Headers add a lot of spice to the layout of your page, so use them a lot to make your post awesome.

I usually suggest above 300 words in your content, but it’ll be better if you have more text.

Get synonyms in your content

Make your content fun, use simple sentences. No one likes reading complex stuff. Certainly, if you content is boring, your readers won’t come back for future posts. Rather, if it’s addictive, you’ll surely have readers who’ll revisit your blog for future posts.

Get LSI keywords in your content also. LSI means Latent Semantic Indexing and they are basically words related to your keywords.

Add Images to better describe your post

Pick a beautiful responsive theme for your blog. Certainly, everyone loves well laid beautiful stuff.

Get backlinks. This are links to your site/blog from other sites. If you have friends who have blogs you can ask for a link to your blog from theirs. You can meet bigger bloggers and ask for a guest post also because your link would be included in that.

Furthermore, share your blog to your social media platforms, so you’ll get more engaged readers.

Most noteworthy, make sure you update old content and freshen up your blog regularly.

This is just
a guide to blogging, but If you have a nice blog and you’ve built your traffic,
then you can think of monetizing your blog and earning from it. I’ll post solely
on that later.
