Join martial arts instructor Michael Issa as we journey through season four of Dao-Yin, a stretch-focused subset of Qigong. In this series, each episode will focus on a combination of massage, meditation, stretching and energy cultivation. You will learn movements to support Liver function, or heart etc. Each episode begins with a warmup, presents new movements, and closes with a stretching routine composed of both new moves and moves from earlier episodes. Like Tai Chi, Qigong is an ancient Chinese calisthenics that combines graceful, stretching movements with slow, measured breathing. Research has shown that these exercises effectively reduce stress and anxiety, in addition to protecting against disease, aging and mental health problems. In every show, Issa reminds you "notice how you feel" after what is surely an invigorating, yet relaxing series of movements.
