At bottom of Calculator, light brown and red area..

Put in 4 numbers from blue part (Equation example), or any 4 acceleration numbers.

Click Calculate second derivative, it will fill in blanks.

Then put 1 (Or any units in future), in “Enter units in future”, click Calculate Future Value, and get future value!

Calculus is about calculating acceleration

An example of calculating acceleration

y = x². That is x times itself. If x is 2, y is 4.

dy/dx means the change in x with the corresponding change in y.

If x changes from 2 to 3(one unit), y will be now 9, a change of 9 – 4/1 = 5/1. dy/dx = 5/1

or 5. The first derivative

Using y = x² to generate 4 acceleration numbers.

If x is 5, y = 25......................... First Derivative.......................... Second Derivative

..................................36 – 25/1 = 11/ 1 or 11

If x is 6, y = 36 ..................................................................13 – 11/1 = 2/1 or 2

....................................49 – 36/1 = 13/1 or 13

If x is 7, y = 49 ..................................................................15 – 13/1 = 2/1 or 2

....................................64 – 49/1 = 15/1 or 15

If x is 8, y = 64

Notice the Second Derivative is constant. The increase in y is always 2.

So for each unit just add 2 to get next increase in y.

So x is 8, y is 64 what will y be next unit by adding derivatives?

It is what it is now 64 + first derivative + second derivative.

64 + 15 + 2 = 64 + 17 = 81, we do not need equation anymore to predict future value!

The next value is 81 + last first derivative + Second Derivative

= 81 + 17 + 2 = 81 + 19 = 100.

This process of Summing is Integration, this Integration is the opposite of finding the

Derivative. The Integral symbol is the Sum Sign.

This process can be used when you have 4 accelerating numbers, like 4 months of

accelerating sales.

Find the first derivative, then second. When second derivative is constant, the

calculation can be made. If the second derivative isn’t constant, a third derivative may

have to be taken like in the case of y = x3.
