Read Comprehensive Case 5 - "The Stress of Caring" on p. 662-664 of your textbook. If you are using e-text, go to the section titled Comprehensive Cases. This is case #2. Respond to the `Your Assignment' section at the end of the case. Be sure to address points mentioned in CC-30 to CC-34. Your submission should be between 6-10 pages long. Remember that other than your instructor your report is going to be read by a busy manager, so the tone of the paper has to be practical and easy to follow. At the same time, since you are the OB expert, you need to offer evidence based knowledge to back your solutions and recommendations. Due date is Tuesday 1 May, 2018 @ 11 p.m. Grading rubric for this assignment is available on p. 3 of the syllabus. Total points = 100. Total weightage = 15%. Suggested sub-headings for your assignment: Background / Context overview - This should be brief - not exceeding 1-2 pages Identification of Problem (s) - List problems identified and explain why you think these are the problems in the case. Do not confuse symptoms for the problem - e.g. saying the problem is employee turnover when turnover is a symptom for an underlying problem such as say poor leadership. Solutions - List your solutions. Solutions should be logically tied to your problems identified in the previous section. They should not jump out of nowehere. Alternative solutions (if any) especially if you envisage challenges to implementing the above mentioned solutions. Conclusions Identification of problem and listing of solutions is the most important part of your case analysis. It should display evidence based knowledge - you need to apply theories and principles that we have covered in all chapters so far. You may also do research to strengthen your analysis and recommendations with examples of other organizations where your proposed solutions have worked. For this you may need to conduct library research on practitioner journals in HR/OB. You may list any references at the end of your report using APA format.
