Carapace is a wooden kinetic sculpture that simulates the motion of a sea turtle swimming. A complex series of mechanisms allows Carapace to swim up and down, tilt forward or back, and even lift its head up for a breath of air. As each mechanism is carefully linked to the next, each of Carapace's flowing motions are driven by turning a single crank.

I bought these plans to use on my CNC router. You don't get solid models. You get STL which is good for 3D printing and DWG flat files which is great for those that are making this by hand. If you plan on buying these and be able to cut this out right away you won't be able to. I had redraw everything from the DWG files into solid models to cut from. The project is great but the plans are not complete in my opinion hence the reason for 3 stars. Email the creator about this and heard nothing back. If I would have heard something back I would have give 4 stars.
