Mary Debono Presents Age-Proofing Your Dog

A Feldenkrais® Approach to Life-long Health and Vitality

Would you like to learn how to help yourself and your dog feel better and move more freely–at any age?

Whether you’re a baby boomer with an aging dog or a millennial with a young pup, Mary Debono can help you and your dog get the most out of life. Mary's unique approach, based on the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, is designed to enhance not only your dog’s health and well-being, but yours as well.

Mary will describe how she has helped dogs overcome the effects of stroke, arthritis, hip dysplasia, torn ligaments, aging, anxiety and stiffness. These dogs−many of whom were considered hopeless cases−demonstrate that improvement is possible at virtually any age or condition.

In Age-Proofing Your Dog, you’ll discover how to:

• Reduce stress and anxiety

• Facilitate healing after injury, surgery or illness

Praise for Mary's Age-Proofing Your Dog Program:

“Age-Proofing Your Dog is a clear and organized course, and Mary is an engaging teacher. It was helpful to hear how she applies the Feldenkrais Method® to dogs that had a variety of physical and behavioral challenges. I highly recommend this program to others interested in helping improve dogs’ lives!” – John Horne, PT, GCFP

"Mary is a delightful, compassionate and entertaining teacher. You might watch her video to learn how to help your dog, and you certainly will.... but you may be surprised to find these techniques will benefit you in ways you did not expect!" - Linda Rulli, GCFP

“Age-Proofing Your Dog is full of valuable information, demonstrations, and experiential opportunities. Mary has a superb ability to communicate her mindful approach in an enjoyable way. Applying her teachings has definitely enhanced my observational and handling skills.” - Allison Falls, dog groomer, GCFP

Mary's Age-Proofing Your Dog workshop allowed me to see how Feldenkrais can help improve the movement of our beloved pets. Mary shared hands-on techniques that had real world applications for my own dog. After attending the class, I worked with my 13-year-old Labrador to help him find a better quality of movement as he manages life with arthritis and hip issues.

“Mary also helped me realize that I can combine my love for animals with what I'm learning about being a future Feldenkrais practitioner. Animals, like people, may develop habits over time that impact how they move. Working with an animal can help them reconnect to a healthy state and move more comfortably. The day went by very quickly as we experienced movements that we could then do on our dogs.” - Sandy Marlin, Feldenkrais Trainee

“There are many amazing things about Mary’s teaching. I learned that a dog’s inability to verbally communicate was not a limitation if I simply opened myself up to being present, attentive and listening. Mary taught us how to increase relaxation and well-being by working with the breath and gently exploring the ribs. This is so beneficial for both the human and the dog and is necessary for the release of pain. Perhaps the most profound skill I learned was how to effectively communicate−nervous system to nervous system−with dogs!”- Joy Ambro, PT, GCFP

“I signed up for Mary’s workshop with the intent of learning techniques how to help my dog in her "old age". But I learned so much more. Mary has a wonderful, sensitive teaching technique that can be applied not only to animals, but to our fellow humans. She really reminded us of how to treat any nervous system.

Working with animals requires so much more listening to their skeletons and nervous systems since they cannot talk to us, but we can really use those techniques all the time. Mary gave us some very practical advice in adding an element of dog therapy to our human practices. I had a wonderful experience and would love to learn even more from Mary!” – Christine Loo, GCFP
