This is a texture that sometimes is called the "Utah Texture" by, Don Norris, the Silversmithing teacher and creator of this video lesson. He calls it the "Utah Texture" because it is not a really pretty texture, but it is a very interesting texture. Yes, he knows that Utah has some pretty areas. This texture really does not. This video teaches you how the texture is made and an attempt to make it faster is shown. To make it correctly can take so much time that no project made with it can be very profitable. It is a great texture for starving artists that like to show off how much time they can waste for very little money. Mr. Norris teaches that it is rare to make a profitable project with this texture and that a hammered texture that takes minutes to make is more sellable and profitable. Given the choice between this texture and a hammered texture most customers will choose the hammered texture anyway. When they see the price difference, he has never had a customer choose the reticulated texture. There are catalog companies that now supply a Silver alloy with more copper in it to help starving artist starve some more. So, why should you down load this lesson? This is a good question, therefore the lower price and hoping your curiosity will prevail. You will learn everything you need to know about reticulation.
