Rosanna as played by ToTo on their Live “FALLING IN BETWEEN TOUR” VERSION custom arranged for Large Big Band. This begins with a mellow R&B shuffle (see video) with the first verse done more as an R& B ballad. Eventually the arrangement kicks into the original groove that everyone knows with the instrumental sections including the guitar solo written out and the horn section with real horns. As on the TOUR version there is a open solo section. It is measured out in this arrangement though no solo parts are written out. After a guitar break, the horns come back in playing through to the end. Listen to the MIDI audio of the this chart but note the open solo section shortened to 8 bars, the ending section included. Total length with open solo section is over 7 min.
Parts include: Full score, vocal (trlo parts SAT), Piano/Keys, Guitar 1, Guitar 2 (optional), bass guitar, drums, percussion, Alto Sax 1 (doubling on Soprano Sax), Alto Sax 2, Tenor Sax 1 (Doubling on Soprano Sax), Tenor Sax 2, Baritone Sax, Bass Sax (optional), Trumpets 1, 2, 3 and 4; Trombones 1, 2, 3 and Bass Trombone.
Note that Alto Sax 1 and Tenor Sax 1 double on soprano saxes for the horn instrumental. Ask us about other options if desired.
