Dollars Without Sense, the Trillion Dollar Dilemma - Mastering Monetization with Aunkh and Keidi - Building on the new series of the State of Black Business, today's intense session revisits the topic of the often discussed $1 trillion (or more) of African American discretionary spending. First we establish that the business output of our community doesn't even come close to matching what we spend. Step by step we build upon the senselessness of this situation and the how's and why's of how this imbalance is perpetuated. One of our biggest challenges is overcoming the limitations of the solopreneurs who make up the vast majority of black businesses. As well, we analyze how the long legacy of enslavement, Jim Crow and segregation burdened our culture with a set of values, morals and logic that has become almost perpetually self-limiting.
