These proactive parenting tips will help you to think about the big picture you want for your children. Parenting with that as your back drop will guide how and what you teach your children. This ensures that they are as best prepared for adulthood as you are prepared to make them.
Too often parents overlook small but significant opportunities to prepare children for life. Missing these opportunities results in various consequences and problems as the child gets older and began dealing with more serious issues. This makes the child's teenage years very challenging for the child and the parent.
The biggest and most destructive problems comes when the child reaches adulthood without knowing the skills and teachings that should have made him or her a strong, positive, productive adult ready for the real world.
If you watch the news, you will see many of these misguided teens acting out. You will see many young adults also being arrested for various crimes. Not that the parent is directly to blame for every little things that these individuals do but imagine this.
If they did not learn the lessons and get the guidance that they needed as child, with all the negative influence around them and opportunity to make poor choices, how easy it without being taught in a way to provide them with tools to end up on that news broadcast? It's very easy.
My advice for new parents attempts to help parents to provide the essential skills and lessons starting immediately and continuously as the child ages so that he or she is at least is prepared with the knowledge to be a productive, responsible, goal oriented, member of society by adulthood.
We all know that learning these things does not necessarily guarantee prosperity but not learning them increases the chances for a non productive life which may include poverty, imprisonment, or even early death from a series of bad choices or maybe just one.
Even after reading this, I hope you have some serious thoughts in your head about how you will parent.
I wish you the best of luck with one of the most challenging responsibilities a person can have. Remember, it can also be one of the most rewarding if you do what you can to do it right.
Good Luck,
The Crazy Trucker
