Shaker Suite: Canterbury, is part of an ongoing exploration of Shaker hymns undertaken in preparation for
the writing of my opera, Amoskeag, which is set in the great Amoskeag textile mills of Manchester, NH, as
well as the Shaker community of Canterbury, some thirty miles to the north.
