This project is about exploring the practical applications of SAIFA kata.
The kata is predominently seen in the Naha-te styles of Karate, and is a fundamental practice form.
There are many things that the moves could do, and you know that when you have a kata names "smash and tear" they will be particularly effective.
Using realistic types of attack and a "close-in" approach to bunkai, John Burke sensei, here assisted by Ross Chesterton sensei shows a variety of ways that the moves of this kata can be utilised.
