This resource for teaching a unit on Medieval Europe is designed to provide teachers with engaging strategies and materials for meeting the requirements of the Year 8 Australian Curriculum. The resource will cover strategies and materials for teaching different aspects of Medieval European society, such as: feudal and political structure, village life, crime and punishment, defence systems, farming and agriculture, daily life in different jobs - as well as aspects to do with contact between Europe and the Middle East through the crusades. Teachers will be shown ways that they can introduce students to the use of historical sources and conventions, and incorporate the use of ICT, including web 2.0 tools, into students’ response to the unit.
