This resource for teaching a unit on Ancient Greece and Rome is designed to provide teachers with engaging strategies and materials for meeting the requirements of the Year 7 Australian Curriculum. The resource will cover strategies and materials for teaching: city states in Ancient Greece, the function of democracy, contact and conflict, the historical role of a significant individual, the rise and fall of The Roman Empire, governing the Roman Empire, and daily life in Ancient Rome. Teachers will be shown ways that they can introduce students to the use of historical sources and conventions, and incorporate the use of ICT, including web 2.0 tools, into students’ response to the unit.
