The fiftieth day, what’s so noteworthy about that?  The number fifty is symbolic

of revival, liberty, freedom and jubilee.  in 1 kings 18, its significance of

refreshing and revival is identified through the actions of Obadiah.  He hides the 

prophets in a cave in groups of fifty to refresh them, refill them, and keeps them

alive while being pursued by the spirit of death.  in luke 16:6, its meaning of

liberty and freedom is made known.  a bad steward is forced to settle his debts. 

He owes one hundred measures of oil, however he has some debt cancelled

and is instructed to reconcile at 50% of what was owed and the other 50% is

eradicated and wiped away.  lastly, in leviticus 25:10 its portrait of jubilee is

revealed.  The people of God celebrated every fiftieth year a nationwide release

from bondage.  at the induction of Jubilee they were to consecrate the fiftieth

year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants.  every

slave would be set free and if they surrendered their land to pay their debts

then the land would be returned to its original owner.  During this time, many

would receive back the things that had been lost.
