A step-by-step guide for parents and professionals using the Pyramid of Potential to treat the symptoms of learning disabilites, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia.
Kathy Johnson, M Ed has been working with numerous clients since 2000 to find the underlying causes of their academic struggles and alleviating the symptoms enough for success. Perfection is not the goal, success and independence are. The conventional wisdom today is to use labels like ADD and Autism, accommodations like extra time on tests, and different teaching strategies to help students succeed. In some cases this is all they need to overcome their struggles, but in most cases, once identified with a label the student learns to require the accommodations in order to find some source of success.
There is another way! The Roadmap from Learning Disabilities to Success will help the parent or professional find the cause of the problem, and make changes in the brain and body to the point that the label no longer matches the student. A quick example would be the child labeled with ADD, who actually has hypersensitive hearing. Once the hearing problem is overcome, the label no longer fits.
Although Kathy has her Master's in Education, her greatest teachers were her students. In this book you will read about the journeys taken by many children and adults, and find out what trainings and therapies worked for them.
Kathy has given professional development conferences across the country on Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia: A Brain Development Approach since 2009. She lives in New York State with her husband and children.

"I couldn't put this book down. No one writes about the power of potential with more feeling, understanding and accuracy as Kathy does. This was a book I could ask my husband to read and know he would read beyond the first few pages because it is straight to the point. I was so empowered; what a great feeling it is as a Mom. Nobody knows a child better than his parents. Most important, Kathy shares her wisdom of how we can help our child in a very healthy way." Lynn Kirsch, mom of LD child
"The Roadmap from Learning Disabilities to Success is an important guide for any parent that has a child with a learning problem. Mrs. Johnson provides us with an invaluable collection of information and resources that provides solutions rather than labels." Dr. Robert Fox, OD
