Composer: Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695)
Forces: String or reed band
A full set of Purcell's music for Southerne's comedy (1690) has survived in manuscript; unfortunately, a full harmonization has survived only for the Overture. Conceived for strings, but also suitable for wind bands.
