Portrait of Beethoven by Joseph Karl Stieler
From Beethoven's conversation books we know that Stieler was permitted four sittings between February and April 1820 to complete this portrait. Beethoven detested these sitting and considered them to be a kind of penance.
Can be stitched on black canvas to avoid stitching background.
