Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is proud to present another debut EP by Mo-Matic from the UK. Like so many times before, BBP is introducing a new act; however this guy is no stranger to the scene, as he’s been rocking dancefloors as part of the successful duo Fuzzbox Inc.
Mo-Matic is all about the skankier dub sounds and raw ghetto funk basslines, and the title tune on this EP “B-Boy Bass” fits that description perfectly. He’s brought along some good friends and top-class producers to remix – the likes of DJ Love from the US, who has been dropping some really hot EPs on Ali B’s Air Recordings - Some DJs from the UK, who is currently killin’ it in the Nu Funk/Ghetto Funk scene, as well as BBP resident Morlack are all ready to drop some bassy B-Boy joints on this EP.
So B-Boys and B-Girls get ready to get your bass on as Mo-Matic is ready to rock the house…
Mo-Matic kicks off the EP with the original cut of B-Boy Bass, which sets the standards at maximum, as he slams on a rocking beat and some groovy synthlines. A booming bassline quickly comes in to put the pressure where Mo-Matic likes it.
DJ Love continues down the same path on his remix of the B-Boy Bass. However adds a twist with some sweet harmonic synthlines and some moombathon beats around the end of the track. All blessed with the swift hand of DJ Love behind the wheels-of-steel.
Some DJs aka Dan Chorlton has the wobble-bass in the palm of his hands, and he has no problems turning the B-Boy Bass into a hard-rockin’ ghetto-funkin’ inferno of bass. With the steady rolling beats and well arranged production, this remix is bound to be a favourite of the Ghetto Funk DJs across the planet.
French funk-master Morlack digs into the B-Boy Bass samples and puts together a sweet re-arrangement, which makes a good alternative to the original version. Morlack adds on some raw funk electro vibes to the skanky dub sounds.
