This 50-page workbook guide is intended for parents, guardians and/or tutors of 3, 4 or 5 year old children who are preparing for kindergarten. It includes Language Arts, Reading, Math, Work Study Habits and Social Skills evaluations and worksheets. These evaluations are designed to assess, as well as, prepare your child for kindergarten. They will let you know what is expected in at this level. Your child may have bypassed the criteria listed on these evaluations. This means that your child should progress to the First Grade Preparation Workbook and will be working above level in kindergarten.
Your child must also have acceptable social skills and good work/study habits in order to achieve academic success. This workbook has a list of goals for kindergarten and an evaluation of detailed skills checklist to be measured.
Use this workbook at your child’s pace. Please have your child master at least 95% of the lessons before moving to the next grade level. Fundamentals are essential for continuous progress.
Some skills listed on the evaluation may not have a worksheet. In this case, you would need to take a visual assessment of the child and participate in the activities for that particular goal to decide if the criterion is being met.
The Kindergarten Evaluation also serves as the Table of Contents in this workbook.
Remember that every child learns at his/her own pace. If your child does not grasp the concept at first, introduce the lesson and practice the concept anyway. He/she will eventually know what is needed for kindergarten.
Once your child completes this workbook, he/she will be ready for first grade.
