Til Death was a title that a friend and I kicked around a bit. His name is Steve Pippin, a talented fellow. We didn't have much written on it. He went home and I got in a "mood" and decided I wanted a good old "death" song, made in the bluegrass style. It was late that night and I sat down in my studio and channeled my writing into that song. There are a lot of old bluegrass songs that deal with death and cheating. I just kind of wrote down what I imagined my feelings would be should that situation ever befall me. It's really kind of morbid, and not what I'd really do, but it seemed to work for the song. I recorded it that same night so I wouldn't forget how it went! I got my band member Jason Roller to play some fiddle on it and some guitar as well. As you can hear, I didn't finish putting harmonies on all of it. It’s still a work in progress. I just thought it was a cool song. I played it for my friend Larry Cordle a great bluegrass singer and writer and he loved it and wanted a copy. Told me he'd get it cut by a bluegrass band. I hope that happens.
