Note due to a fire on the 18th June 1913 the first eleven volumes were damaged. With luck transcripts of those volumes had already been completed by Miss Auden, F.R. Hist. S.

At the beginning of the 19th century Rowley Regis parish was formed of the village of Rowley and included a number of hamlets-
The Brades, Tividale, Oakham, The Knoll, Tipity Green, Windmill End, Old Hill, Reddal Hill, Cradley Heath, Lawrence’s Lane, Longtown, Corngreaves, Hayseech, Gosty Hill and Black Heath, also with groups of houses at Whiteheath Gate, Portway, Turner’s Hill, Perry Lake etc.
