The duggis or dugi is an indian drum, with a kettle drum shape, played with fingers and palm of the hand. It is a folk drum in Uttar Pradesh.
In shehnai ensembles, a duggi player provided rhythm accompaniment, but nowadays, a tabla player has the role. The duggi consists of two drums, like a tabla and bayan, but smaller in size. The duggi has neither the resounding quality of the tabla nor the peculiarity that the tabla has of sustaining the frequencies of a note.
It is also performed in baul music of the Bengal/Bangladesh region.
DUGGIS loops are divided into 5 parts according to the speed .
1.Very Slow Loops ( 70 or 80 Beats per second ) - 175 + loops .
2.Slow Loops ( 100 Beats per second ) - 175 + loops .
3.Medium speed Loops (120 Beats per second ) - 175 + loops .
4.Fast Loops ( 140 Beats per second ) - 175 + loops .
5.Very Fast Loops ( 180 Beats per second ) - 175 + loops .
A Total of more than 875 loops . These loops can be used in different genere.
