5th Kyu is level 5 from a total of 9 levels in the entire series of "Basics of Ninja Training, which is the black belt curriculum of the Santa Cruz Bujinkan Dojo. Learning Kyu 9 (Level One) through Kyu 6 (Level 4) is recommended, before or simultaneous with Kyu 5. Successful testing of all 9 Kyus with a qualified instructor is required to receive your black belt in Ninjutsu, the ancient martial art of the Ninja. The specific school featured in these videos is Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu lead by Grand Master Masaaki Hatsumi (demonstrated here by Hatsumi-authorized 10th Dan Sensei Mark Roemke.)

A former New York state Tae Kwon Do Champion, Roemke is also trained in Kenpo Kung Fu, DeCuerdas Eskrima, Seibukan Jujutsu and military fighting tactics of the Army 10th Mountain Infantry.
