NEW TATTOO is the eighth studio album by the American hard rock band Mötley Crüe released in 2000. Artistically, NEW TATTOO shows the band going back to their attitude driven, testosterone fueled sleazy glam metal sound that gave them commercial success in the 1980''s. Long time drummer Tommy Lee left the band a year before, and was replaced by former Ozzy Osbourne drummer Randy Castillo on the album.
Sexy rocker "Hell on High Heels" was released as a single for the album and charted at number 13 on the Mainstream rock charts. It features big, anthemic chorus and a catchy guitar lick. "Treat Me Like the Dog I Am" takes a punky turn, while the title track is a ballad about a man who celebrates his love for his woman in true rock & roll fashion - her name on his arm. Randy Castillo''s excellent playing is featured on "First Band on the Moon." The album closes with another in a long line of Crue cover tunes, The Tubes'' "White Punks on Dope." This killer version fits right in with the sleazy, bratty, party vibe of NEW TATTOO. Album easily picks up where DR. FEELGOOD left off.
