When I was little, my mother always made sure I left the house with a dollar in my pocket. Back then, it
meant I could buy a piece of Bubble Yum, and call her from a pay phone if I was stranded in the middle
of nowhere. It was my way out of an impossible situation. The song Dollar is one of solidarity,
independence, and knowing that in spite of the most dire of circumstances, that "dollar in your pocket"
is going to save your ass.
