This composition was written by Harris Shilakowsky, former concertmaster of Charleston, New Orleans, Grand Rapids, and Omaha Symphony Orchestras, and guest leader of the London Symphony Orchestra. The Duettino for 2 Violins, was written in 1971 while attending the Thelma Yellin School for the Arts in Israel, and was premiered there. The Fiddlers' Fugue, scored for five violins is based on the theme from this piece.
