Mead - Chapter 23
In this article Mead addresses the international community of futurists
in the official publication of the World Future Society, which had been
established seven years earlier at the dawn of the present Futures
Although Mead does not here explicitly identify herself as a futurist,
it is clear that she is at home with, and sympathetic to, futurist ways
of looking at the world.
Of particular interest is the sidebar, which seems implicitly to chide
futurists (or people she so defines) for having not been "responsible
about the next decade, the next quarter century, the next fifty years

I want to talk about a few of the possible strategies that we can use
in the coming few years to enhance our ability to deal with the fact
that we know something is happening.
