Healing Seminar 8. Healing literacy. Coffee is good. Deep breaths are good. Deep breaths are not good. Coffee is bad. Cholesterol in circulating blood protects heart attacks. Cholesterol causes heart attacks. Huffing and puffing exercise prevents heart attack. Huffing and puffing exercise does not prevent heart attacks. People everywhere are deeply disappointed about what sadvertisers tell them about the science of health and healing.

This is the eight of a nine-part series of video seminars on the health/Dis-ease/disease continuum offered by Professor Majid Ali., M.D. In this seminar, he explains the basic science of health and healing in simple words, using simple analogies.

Professor Ali coined the term endos as short for endothelium, a delicate layer of single cells lining the inside of all arteries and veins in the body. All forms of cardiovascular diseases begin with endo damage caused by toxins (tobacco smoke, excess sugar, unhealthy fats (healthy fats protect endo cells), excess adrenaline and related stress substances in the body, deficiencies of certain vitamins, minerals, and enzymes) .

Professor Ali is the solo author of The Principles and Practice of Integrative Medicine (12 volumes) and 24 other books. He is a surgeon (FRCS, Eng) – turned pathologist (Columbia University, New York) – turned clinical ecologist - turned integrationist. His research findings have been published in prestigious journals, including JAMA, Lancet, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Archives of Pathology, Cancer, Annals of Allergy, Israel Journal of Science, Journal of Integrative Medicine, and Townsend Letter. He is the host of Science, Health, and Healing at WBAI Radio, New York, and MNN TV, New York.
