This video is about analysing the moves found in Karate kata to reveal effective methods of protecting the individual.  Self defence, if you like.  Many times, moves from kata are shown in unrealistic combinations, as if fighting against opponents doing martial arts.  In this series we take it that the opponent will be attacking with the kinds of attack that people actually use out there in the real world rather than the dojo.

Bunkai Strategies is a free Newsletter, available from bunkai.co.uk.  50 times each year we put out information in the Newsletter, with a corresponding video on the tv.bunkai.co.uk site.  Our paying subscribers receive the longer, more in-depth Bunkai Gold videos, such as this one here.

Bunkai Gold is presented by John Burke, 6th dan renshi.  He teaches Karate full-time in Devon, UK, having begun training over 30 years ago.  His seminars, books, and DVDs are well received across the UK and internationally.
