Dr. Wilson discusses unusual and avant garde religions such as the Discordian Society, the Reformed Druids of North America, the Church of the Sub-Genius, the Neo-American Church andand other prankish approaches to divinity. He examines the use of humor in Zen and Sufism, zaniness in art (surrealism) and philosophy (pataphysics) and the possibility that humor is often more serious than we realize. Robert Anton Wilson is an author of over two dozen books, both fiction and non-fiction. He Is an editor, humorist, Esalen lecturer and guerilla ontologist with an avid Interest In religion, politics,and human behavror. His mammoth Illuminatus! trilogy, co-authored with Robert Shea, won the Prometheus Hall of Fame award, and his play Willhelm Reich in Hell has been performed at the Edmund Burke Theatre in Dublin.
