Bunkai Workshop 2016
This video is 20 minutes long. It was prepared as a reminder for the participants of the Bunkai Workshop in Newton Abbot, Devon on 6th March 2016.
Necessarily, the video does not contain every nuance that was taught during the day, but combined with the notes that the participants made will serve as a useful reminder of the 5 hours of training that took place.
John Burke renshi taught moves from various kata, including stylistic variations, to participants from different clubs and styles. The bunkai - analysis - of the art allows that oyo - application - to become apparent. Participants from white belt to 4th Dan found practical self defence moves from their set patterns/forms.
Here we see moves from Tekki or Naihanchi; throws from Pinan or Heian Yondan; how morote uke can be used as a joint lock; Bassai or Passai's center-lock and much more. Covered briskly, practitioners will want to Pause, Rewind, and Review to get the best out of the heap of information contained.
