Triple Celtic Crosses
Make this 36" x 90" bed scarf with your choice of a traditional Celtic knot, or chose one of two Rose of Sharon applique bonus designs, set into a overall Celtic knotwork pattern with a Modular pieced background. Modular piecing is a special technique that Scarlett has developed to keep the layers of fabric to a minimum for quilting. This technique allows for seams in the background fabrics to be hidden underneath the bias appliqué. Scarlett’s technique is a variation of raw edge appliqué, modified for piecing her Celtic applique backgrounds. Full size templates for Scarlett's modular piecing are included with the full size applique designs for the Celtic knot and the Rose of Sharon blocks. Detailed instructions for Modular piecing include diagrams showing step-by-step assembly. Applique by hand or machine, using your favorite method. Links are provided if instructions on how to make bias are needed.
