Ethereal Fichu knitting pattern - PDF
Knit your own Ethereal Fichu using these clearly-written instructions by knitwear designer Jackie E-S of HeartStrings FiberArts.
A sheer and flowing long triangular shoulder wrap knit in geometric lace motifs. This is a good project to make in a special exotic fiber you've always wanted, as it requires only a small amount of laceweight yarn.
You are buying a download of a PDF file that you can view using Adobe Reader and print on 8½" x 11" plain paper as a personal copy of knitting instructions to make the Ethereal Fichu. Pattern is 4 pages and includes color photo, charted and written line-by-line stitch instructions.
Start at the point of the triangle and increase to the widest point, creating a pretty pointed edge along the sides of the triangle. To add a bit of a curve to the basic triangle shape, the initial lace motif transitions into a similar one with a slightly different scale partway through the length of the fichu. A pretty coordinating edging is worked sideways to bind off and complete your project.
The Ethereal Fichu shown in the picture was made in Buffalo Gold "Buffboo" yarn, a blend of bamboo and bison down.
As do all HeartStrings' patterns, this pattern has yarn-generic specifications so you can easily substitute with the yarn you want.
To make Ethereal Fichu in either of 2 sizes, you will need 475 (500) yards of laceweight yarn for blocked triangular measurements of 42" deep by 56" (60") wide. Size US 6 / 4.0 mm needles suggested for gauge of 4 stitches/inch.
