Size of your leaf will depend on needle and thread used. Guidelines are included in pattern for using anywhere from #30 crochet thread to size 5 pearl cotton. The Oak Leaf shown in the picture was made in size 5 perle cotton on size US 3 needles for finished size of 6" by 4" excluding stem.
