Good News Long Division and Multiplication
Traditional long division and multiplication are very difficult, error-prone procedures for third-grade and fourth-graders to learn. However, Good News Long Division and Good News Multiplication are much simpler, easier, and more powerful!
Traditional long division requires guessing each quotient digit and then checking the guess with multiplication. Errors are usually not found until the long, frustrating process is completed. By contrast, Good News Long Division requires no guessing. It is easily checked as it's done to eliminate errors as they occur.
Good News Multiplication and Good News Long Division involve absolutely no multiplication, which eliminates a major source of errors. Also, traditional multiplication and division calcilations become far more difficult as multipliers or divisors increase in size, but the Good News methods increase only slightly in difficulty as these operands get bigger.
The only skills needed for both of these simple new methoids are those that third-graders already have: adding, subtracting, and comparing numbers.
This 90 page book contains step-by-step explanations and many of completed examples. Section 12 is a two-page summary, whcih may be all that is needed to learn these efficient new methods.
