ACL Project Plan (template)
There are certain steps that need to occur before you can analyze any structured data. This is especially important during any analysis that either directly or potentially involves fraud. All fraud investigations must be conducted in a forensically sound manner meaning that in the event of litigation, the analysis must be able to stand up in court. Since there is a strong likelihood that a fraud risk assessment, forensic audit or related project could uncover evidence of an actual fraud or become the basis for predication for a potential fraud, it is best practice to be vigilant in not skipping steps. At the very least, the results reported to management should be complete and accurate.
This is a model for an ACL Project Plan built in MS Word which outlines the pre-analysis steps as well as the associated ACL scripts for each step. In addition, there is space to document the results from each step including each analysis step (to be determined by the analyst), and reporting the results.
