About the author: I am male, 48 years old, and I have been running for 2 1/2 years. I am overweight, have knee pain, diabetes type II, crohn’s disease and high blood pressure.
From the introduction I am betting we are similar, in our physique, fitness levels and challenges. I do not know you, and therefore I cannot personalize this book to your current physical condition or running experience. You need to draw from this book that someone else has been there, this fatty makes it work for him, and has simple, practical and relevant advice to get you started.
This almost 50-year-old guy does it without concern for being last, without regard for the huge amounts of sweat (puddles) he can make. This guy who has been largely inactive for 45 years got up off the couch.
I did it, so you ask yourself again, ‘why not me?’ I have tried to keep this book short, and such that you can jump to the Checklist if you want. Then look back to the steps and more information when you need.
