How To Teach Romeo and Juliet
Each of the How To Teach Shakespeare units contains a comprehensive range of strategies divided into several sections:
- Pre-reading activities: Strategies to familiarise students with the plot of the text and get them thinking about the key ideas or the situations characters face before they read through the text.
- Read through activities: Strategies to maintain students' focus and support them to keep track of the play while reading through it.
- Debrief activities: Activities to do after an initial read through that aid students to clarify their understanding of the plot.
- Analysis activities: Activities and resources that build students' understanding of the characters, themes and techniques in the play in a way that will help them ultimately be able to respond to the play in a complex way.
