Description: This course will provide parents and therapists with important information and resources on Sensory Processing Disorder. This information may be used to discuss SPD with physicians who may have limited or no knowledge about sensory problems in children.
Level: Introductory -This webinar would be appropriate for parents, occupational therapists, physical therapists, OT aides/ assts, PT aides/ assts, psychologists, physicians, and other health care professionals.
Objectives: By the end of the webinar the participant will be able to:
1. Identify resources participants can give physicians on SPD.
2. Identify basic research related to sensory integration efficacy and how to present it to physicians.
3. Describe sensory processing disorder and how it relates to other diagnoses.
Course Credit/ Continuing Education Units: This webinarqualifies for 1 clock hours as required by many national, state and local licensing boards and professional organizations. Completion of the exam following the webinar will result in a total of 1.25 clock hours instead of 1 clock hour.
