Cities of Refuge Pt 3
When Israel took possession of their Promised Land, they appointed six Cities of Refuge across the country. These cities were sanctuaries for a person accused of a crime to be protected from the Avenger of Blood while the crime was investigated.
Scriptures, and subsequent commentary, attached significance and specific processes to building, maintaining and accessing these Cities of Refuge. Each city also points to Jesus as our City of Refuge.
