Porsche 987 Boxster Cayman Workshop Manual
Porsche 987 Boxster Boxster S Cayman Cayman S 2005-2008+ Workshop Manual
This highly detailed, professional, 5117 page German workshop manual written in English, for Porsche Boxster and Cayman (and S versions) model years 2005 through 2008. The 160 page Table of Contents is menu driven, which means you can look up a particular section, and click on that item in the Table of Contents, and it will take you to the appropriate page. To search for a particular word such as "starter" in the manual, choose "EDIT", "FIND", and a search box will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Type in "starter", hit enter, and every page containing the word "starter" will be displayed, as you page through the document by clicking on the down arrow at the top of the screen. The manual covers general maintenance unique to the Boxster/Cayman such as removing engine covers, changing oil and filter, spark plugs, drive belt, headlights/tail lights, air conditioning/heater, glass, covertible top repair, clutch, seal, and intermediate shaft bearing replacement, transmission, complete overhauls, mechanical repairs, body repairs, interior, electronics, computer, stereo, CD players, PCM, emission control equipment, safety equipment, air bags, and general troubleshooting. With this workshop manual, the commercially available and affordable Durametric OBD2 diagnostic tool (US$300-$400), and with the usual hand tools and equipment, a reasonably skilled person or a professional technician can accomplish basic maintenance, repairs, and virtually all mechanical and body work on these great German-engineered mid engined cars, and owners can avoid expensive labor at the dealer. The Boxster 986 was released in 1997, and was replaced by the 987 in 2005, with several body, interior, and engine changes, but not dramatically different mechanically. The Cayman coupe, which is mechanically very similar to the Boxster, was released in 2006. The Boxster and Cayman 987 designs were fairly consistent with the 2005/2006 model years up until this year (2012), when the Boxster 987 was recently replaced by the 2013 model year 981, which was a significant change. Therefore, much of this manual is pertinent to model years 2007-2012 also, even though the manual was produced in 2006 for model years 2005 and 2006.
