This is a selection of 24 sample love letters from the turn of the century. Written with the authentic language from the early 1900's, this 25 page book gives a glimpse into the proper etiquette and strict guidelines that governed the interactions between men and women falling in love. In addition to declarations of love, the booklet also contains sample letters of the ladies' responses, both favorable and unfavorable. Other letters include: an offer of marriage to a widow, from a gentleman ordered to military service, from a man asking for his friend's advice, and others. The book also gives a brief overview stressing the importance of punctuation, "extravagant adulation", and "insipid compliments". At the very least, this selection of letters makes for a very entertaining read.
