In the upper highlands of Ontario, in a steep sided but wide valley, a creek meanders from wetland to wetland flowing through a mixed forest of white pine, red maples, and white, yellow and black birches. This is a rocky wilderness of deer, moose, and beaver.
The recording location has a water drop of about 2 feet (.6 meters) where the creek finds three paths to arrive at a small 3 foot (1 meter) wide pool. There it pauses as if to gather itself together to flow a little further into a small rocky pond. The musical sound of playful pitches is of peace and seclusion. Chickadees chirp as they forage for food in the area.
A slow 10 second fade-in at the beginning and a slow fade-out at the end gives a smooth peaceful transition. Edited digital field recording encoded at 192 kps. Length: 1:07:04 File size: 94.3 MB.
