Part 3: Choosing Appropriate Footwear:
This segment, designed for physicians, therapists, trainers, coaches and professional athletes, is part live (2011 IRRA Conference) , part studio (Austin School of Film). It compliments parts 1 and 2 and assists in “putting it all together” while talking about shoe characteristics (last, heel counter, toe box, drop, etc) and how they apply to foot types and the results of your functional testing, with an emphasis on selecting the right characteristics, rather than a particular model The walking and running gait cycles are reviewed. Shoe anatomy is presented in detail and the steps to a proper shoe fit are summarized at the conclusion.
